chatting with uwe thiem via email today about an article being written in a mainstream south african computer magazine about kde, he happened to remind me with one of his interview answers that kde is currently used in over 300 namibian schools. i know it's been covered before on kde's official news site but it's easy to forget about things like that.
over 300 schools. that's thousands and thousands of children. wow.
i know in the "big scheme of things" (aka the millions of economically valuable systems in "enterprise installations") that's not earth shatteringly important. but in the little scheme of things (aka "humans being not just doing") it's pretty hard to top.
side note: my cat has taken to insisting on drinking water out of a glass. preferably a pint glass. ffs.
