- Week in review: Camp KDE 2009 approaches, KDE 4.2 beta 1 reviews and a development stats update.
- The Headline: Plasma in 4.3 .. The "What now?" release: with 4.2 shining with lots of newness, what am I thinking for 4.3 and Plasma?
- Feature of the Week: KDE Games fly-by: we'll look at a number of the games in 4.2 and how they are shaping up to be better than ever, including one or two that won't be in 4.2!
- Town Hall: Bring your questions to #aseigo on irc.freenode.net, or leave one in the comment section below if you can't show up! I'll have my sack of answers at the ready at showtime.
- Developer Corner: Using Phonon to add rich media support easily to your application. We didn't get to this last week, so it's a do-over for this one!
A FOSS friendly codec version with all the media and text files used in the show will be offered via bittorrent after the show so you can download it for offline viewing, in addition to the usual online clip at UStream. The torrent will also have the files provided individually this time versus the (bad idea) of a single archive. .. you know, assuming I actually get a recording of the thing. ;)

how do plasma handle plasmoids from third parties? i mean can they work across kde versions? or will they be like firefox extensions where they have to be updated on every firefox upgrade? ..
it is extremely annoying when forced to use older versions of firefox because a critical extension is not up todate ..
just wondering if the same thing will happen with kde plasmoids from third party developers

Thanks for giving Kdenlive 0.7 a try! As someone working with the devs on this project, I'm kind of biased in seeing this succeed. Given that I just wanted to pass on a couple of quick tips:
1. Keep it updated. Developments moving fast, and I can already point to over 30 bugfixes since v0.7 not to mention new tools (to this version) like the spacer tool.
2. Kdenlive works with many formats, but works better with some than others. MPEG formats seem to work the best, the most consistently.
3. The built in / LADSPA effects (currently) seem more stable in Kdenlive than the Frei0r ones (Normaliz0r, Level0r etc).
4. Ctrl+Click (or the spacer tool) is currently the best way to move multiple clips.

I just installed KDE 4.2 beta and it rocks!
I love the Plasma animations.
I like the preview windows in the taskbar, but will they work for grouped tasks? Will the previews be clickable?
That would be soo cool.
