in Zurich

I wrote my last blog entry while at the airport in Toronto between flights, and am now in Zurich. Luca Gugelmann was kind enough to meet me at the airport and hang out for much of the day with me. :)

Besides eating a most amazing vegetarian meal in a restaurant founded in the 1890s that specializes in vegetarian fare, I spent my first day here adjusting to time zones (9 hours of difference), getting acquainted with the city and its public transit system enough to be able to travel about without getting lost too badly and working on my presentation for tomorrow.

The next few days will be very busy for me, so I may be not quite so reachable as I usually am. I owe a few people emails about the book deal and I need to write a blog entry about the results of a meeting I had with educators and educational distro makers last week (we have exciting opportunities for 2009 here), but I may not get to any of that for a couple of days due to my schedule this week here in Zurich.

So if I have a pending communication for you, please excuse my tardiness this week.

Spending tomorrow at the sustainability summit will be interesting ... I really have no idea what to expect yet. I do hope to see every KDE user in town at the 4.2 release party on the 28th here in Zurich.

If you’re looking for another great place to eat, I’d suggest you try the “tibits” (www.tibits.ch). It’t a self-service vegetarian restaurant with excellent food and a nice atmosphere (I only know the one in Basel, but I guess they are similar).

Zurich, huh? Awesome, I'm Swiss! ;) If you want something REALLY awesome for dinner, try this: http://blindekuh.ch/e/zurich/restaurant/restaurant.html ... I was there, very special experience! I'll have an exam on the 28th but maybe I can make it to the release event...happy stay in Zurich and if you need any help for whatever, just drop me a mail. Best, Marcel

I just wanted to say that KDE 4.2 is an incredible release, and I am very satisfied with it.

Do not let Linus bother you.
